How to Order
It just takes 5 easy steps for you to be holding an Original Portrait in your hands!
- Choose the best and most suitable photo that you would like to commission your portrait.
- Fill out the Portrait Order Form along with sending your chosen photo/s. Commissions are accepted based on photo suitability and time requirements. Usually within 24 hours you will receive confirmation e-mail of your order.
- Once you have received this confirmation and are happy to proceed with your order you will then be requested to pay 50 percent of your total order. Once this payment is verified as received, work on your portrait will commence.
- When your Portrait is complete, you will be given a private password unique to you where you can view your finished portrait. Please note that all final viewings before purchase will be watermark protected. Confirming that you are happy with the result, you will be required to finalise the balance of your payment at this point.
- Once this final payment is verified as received, your portrait will be immediately shipped to your chosen address. 'Click here' to view Order Form
When commissioning your Portrait, please leave as much time as possible in advance of when you would like to receive it. Ideally, it is preferable to order at least 3 weeks in advance, but this would finally depend on my schedule at the time and where you are ordering from. However, there is no tight rule on this - basically if you let me know when you need it and if I can do it for you, then I will!
Although payments are generally made through PAYPAL, it may also be possible to pay for your Portrait by Cheque, International Money Order or by Cash, depending on where you are ordering from. Please enquire on or before ordering.
Portrait Commissions can be made by Order Form, by e-mail or by telephone. Please ensure you are familiar with the terms of agreement before ordering. These can be found on the Order Forms supplied.

Choosing your Photograph
Choosing the photo that you would like your portrait drawn from is important so that you get the best result from your photo. Try to follow as closely as possible to the guide outlined below to get the best result.
- It is important that the 'head' of the subject is no smaller than 2 inches big. If smaller, important detail such as eyes, nose, teeth etc. will not be clear enough to see.
- Ensure your photo is not blurred. It should be crisp and visibly show the details needed to ensure the best likeness can be obtained.
- Check your lighting in the photo. Over-exposed photos (i.e. too much light) do not make for good portraits as they lack shadow and warmth in the subject and will just make your subject look cold and 'pasty'. Always make sure there is a nice balance of light and shade with definition in the subject's face.
- When we look through photos, we can always come across some photos that aren't typically holding a good facial resemblance, even though we know who it is. If you use a photo that doesn't hold a strong typical resemblance to your subject in the first place, then your portrait will lack the same.
- PETS: For animals, try to choose a photo that was taken at eye level to the animal. As dogs, cats and family pets are often so much smaller than humans, often the photo is taken looking down at the pet. Instead, lower yourself right down until you are level with the animal and you will see a much better angle of the animal. Also it is more interesting to have a 3/4 head view rather than straight-on view of pets, as can often be the case with humans too.
- Lastly, remember that a portrait can only be as good as the photo you choose, so spend a little time checking you pick the most suitable one! But don't worry if you are still having difficulty deciding, you can send more than one photo if you like and I will help you choose!
